Week 5

Tuesday: 3 hours at Sunnyluck Farms. Round penned and sacked out Ruby (client horse) and round penned Reagan. Rode Denzel and Buster.

Thursday: 3 and a half hours at Sunnyluck Farms. Round penned and rode Reagan on the lunge line in the arena. She did very well, and we're working on stop to walk, walk to trot, trot to walk, and walk to halt transitions. She's a VERY fast learner and so chill about everything, and I love the way she moves. I like her a lot. Also rode Godiva for 20 minutes or so, we're working on slowly getting her back into shape. She's a very cool mare. 1 hour at Laughing Buck Farm. Rode Lady (AKA Ladybug) and really worked on getting her to move off of my leg. I can tell that she has had reining training, because she has a pretty solid spin and a good stop.

Saturday: Rode Denzel for about an hour. He did really well- we're working on starting to move is shoulders some.

Week 4

Tuesday: At Sunnyluck Farms for three hours in the morning. Worked with Snack Pack a little bit, re-braided her, watched a client horse's first lesson having her head tied, then rode Denzel. He was super good and really soft.

Then went across the street to Laughing Buck Farm for 3 hours. Worked with B and the ponies (Ginger and Sassy) and then rode both Magic and Lady. Magic was pretty good, though still quite lurch-y and inconsistent. Lady had picked up the habit of dropping her shoulder and plowing into any leg pressure that you applied and she'd also been trying to rub people off on the fences, so I decided to put my spurs on with her and she was a completely different horse. It was like I had flipped a switch. She has a decent spin and when she attempted to scrape me off on the fence and I poked her with my spur, she straightened right up and didn't try it again.

Wednesday: At Sunnyluck Farms for 2 hours in the morning. Put the second official ride on Reagan (first 'ride' was just standing still) and she did really well! Was even a bit lazy. We got a few good minutes of walking and trotting and then called it a day because she did so well. Then Sabrina and I put Garcia's first halter on, he was also very good.

Week 3

Tuesday: New baby born at Sunnyluck farms! Buckskin colt named Garcia, going to be one of my projects for the summer. Full sibling to my other project, Denzel. Went to a 4-H clinic with Clifford in the evening, he was pretty hyper but did really well being in a large arena with a bunch of horses, some of which who weren't very controlled.
Garcia at a few hours old

Denzel (full sibling) at 4 years

Thursday: 5 hours at Sunnyluck Farms. Round penned Chanel, braided tails, round penned Reagan, saddled her, round penned some more, worked with Kit Kat.

Reagan
Friday: 2 hours at Sunnyluck Farms. Rode Godiva, a finished reining mare.

Week 2

Pretty laid back week.
Tuesday: At Sunnyluck Farms for a little over an hour in the morning. Got two nice walk-lope transitions with Hollywood, and then walked around the property for a while.

Thursday: Two hours at Sunnyluck Farms in the afternoon. Round penned Chanel and Denzel and then rode Hollywood. Made friends with Latte, the only broodmare in foal this year, her foal will be one of my projects (since he/she will be a full sibling to my other project, Denzel). Sweet girl is ready to get that baby out of her!
